DALLAS, TX - Today the American Southwest Conference announced the 2024-25 men's golf All-Conference Teams and three Howard Payne Yellow Jackets were honored.
Miken Hernandez – Co-Freshman of the Year / Second Team All-Conference
In his debut collegiate season,
Miken Hernandez made an immediate impact for the Yellow Jackets, earning Co-Freshman of the Year honors and a spot on the ASC Second Team All-Conference. Competing in eight tournaments, Hernandez produced four top-25 finishes, including three in the top-15. His standout performance came at The Battle in Brownwood, where he carded a 145 (74, 71) to tie for 5th individually and help HPU secure a 3rd place team finish. Hernandez also placed T-15 at the Linda Lowry Invitational with a 155 (76, 79), showing consistency across the season and establishing himself as a key contributor to the program's future.
Grant Drummond – Second Team All-Conference
Junior
Grant Drummond delivered a strong season for the Yellow Jackets, earning Second Team All-Conference honors from the ASC. Drummond appeared in eight tournaments and recorded multiple top-20 finishes, with his best coming at the Pine Dunes Intercollegiate where he fired a 148 (74, 74) to finish T-9. At the ASC Men's Championship, Drummond shot a solid 151 (76, 75) to place T-14 and contribute to the team's overall performance. Known for his consistency and steady play, Drummond proved to be a reliable presence in the lineup throughout the year.
Blaine Onick – Co-Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year / Second Team All-Conference
Blaine Onick wrapped up a memorable season by being named Co-Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year and earning Second Team All-Conference honors. A steady competitor across eight tournaments, Onick posted several top-25 finishes, including a strong showing at the ASC Men's Championship where he shot 149 (75, 74) to tie for 9th place overall. He also played a key role at the Space City Classic, finishing T-20 with a 226 (76, 75, 75). Onick's leadership and integrity both on and off the course exemplified the spirit of sportsmanship recognized by the conference.
