DALLAS, Texas – The American Southwest Conference today announced the 2024-25 ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Teams and Howard Payne University's Carter Eddy was named to the team list for men's basketball.
 
An ASC All-Freshman Team selection, Carter Eddy was a true bright spot for the team this past season. He played in 25 games for the Jackets, totaling 213 minutes. Boasting a team leading .488 3P%, Eddy knocked down 21 out of the possible 43 3-pointers he shot. Eddy had his season best against Southwestern (Dec. 4), where he poured in 18 points on 6 of 9 shooting, knocking down 4 threes in the process. He also had a season-best two steals during the matchup. Eddy had 120 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists on the year.
 
Student-athletes were nominated by their institution as part of the Distinguished Scholar-Athlete team for each sport.
