Howard Payne athletics gears up for a busy weekend on the road as multiple programs take competition across the state, while others take a brief pause before returning to action next week.
The Yellow Jackets tennis teams will be back in action on Saturday, March 21, traveling to Abilene to face McMurry University. Both the men's and women's squads look to build momentum as they continue their spring schedules, with opportunities to stack strong singles and doubles performances against a familiar opponent.
On the links, Howard Payne men's and women's golf will head to Round Rock for the Linda Lowery Invitational, hosted at the Teravista Golf Course from Sunday, March 22 through Tuesday, March 24. The multi-day tournament will test consistency and endurance as both teams compete against a strong field, looking to put together steady rounds and climb the leaderboard.
Beach volleyball continues its inaugural season with another historic weekend, traveling to Texarkana for a tournament hosted by Texas A&M–Texarkana on Saturday, March 21. As the program continues to grow in its first year, each match provides valuable experience and another opportunity to build confidence on the sand.
Howard Payne baseball will have the weekend off before returning to action on Friday, March 27, when the Yellow Jackets open a weekend series against Nebraska Wesleyan. Softball will also be idle this weekend but is set to resume play on Tuesday, March 24, hosting the University of Dallas.
With teams spread across Texas and beyond, the Yellow Jackets will look to make the most of their opportunities as the spring season continues to take shape.
