Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne baseball split a conference double header with Louisiana College 4-3 and 7-10 Friday afternoon at Don Shepard Park.

Down 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning, HPU's Kyle Kulczyk doubled down the left line to score CJ Schumann and Colton Brown giving the Yellow Jackets the 4-3 walk-off victory.

Will Roberts singled through the left side to score Colton Brown in the bottom of the first to give HPU a 1-0 lead. Kyle Kulczyk tripled to right field bringing home Matthew Daniel in the fifth to give HPU a 2-1 lead.

Jacob Spivey got the complete game win for HPU striking out nine and walking five. Kulczyk was 3-for-4 from the plate with 3 RBIs. Will Roberts and Dustin DeJohn each added two hits.

In game two, LC scored four in the top of the first so the Jackets had to play from behind early. In the bottom of the first the Jackets would pull to within two after a Colton Brown tripled and scoring on a fielding error by second baseman and a Matthew Daniel homer to left field.

In the second, HPU pulled to within one, 2-3, when Brown singled to center field to score Dustin DeJohn.

Both teams would score runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings with LC leading 8-7 after the sixth. LC added to more runs in the seventh to gain a 10-7.

Corey Howie picked up the loss for the Jackets going six innings giving up eight runs on 11 hits, striking out three and walking one. Kyle Roman and Jamie Boyd saw time in relief for the Jackets. Daniel led the Jackets with 3 RBIs.

Howard Payne stands at 6-6 overall and 3-5 in conference, LC is now 2-9 overall and 1-7 in ASC action. Both teams will play a single game on Saturday starting at 12:00 noon.
