2014: During his first season with HPU, he was among the top pitchers in the ASC and voted Honorable Mention for ASC All Conference Pitcher. Jacob went 5-4 as a starter for the Yellow Jackets. He was second on the team in strikeouts with 56. Spivey had five or more strikeouts in a game six times with a season high nine versus Louisiana College.

SAGU: Prior to attending HPU, he attended Southwestern Assemblies of God in Waxahachie, Texas. At SAGU, he was starting shortstop his freshmen and sophomore year, also in the starting pitching orotation. He avaraged .318 at the plate and recorded a 2.5 ERA on the mound.

High School: Jacob is a 2011 graduate of Harker Heights High School in Harker Heights, Texas, lettering three years in Baseball. As a member of the Knights baseball team, he helped the team set the school record for wins in 2011 with an 18-11 overall record. He earned the honors of 1st Team All-District, 2nd Team All-Area, Team MVP, and Central Texas All-Star.

Personal: Jacob was born in Austin, Texas and raised in Georgetown, Texas.  He is the son of Danny and Cherie Spivey.  He is an aspiring Exercise and Sports Science major who plans on becoming a History and Science teacher and coach baseball. Jacob stays busy with his summer job as a Coach for the Killeen Rebels Baseball Organization and enjoys working with athletic youth programs.  HIs hobbies are baseball, football, hunting, fishing and traveling.
