Jackets With DH Losses To Arlington Baptist

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FORT WORTH, Texas – The Howard Payne baseball team fell 6-4 and 5-4 in non-conference action to Arlington Baptist College Tuesday at LaGrave Field.

After leading 2-0 early on the Jackets would have to battle back later to tie the game a 4-4 in the top of the fifth.

Arlington Baptist would score one in the bottom fifth and sixth to take the first game on the double header 6-4.

Nathan Weyrauch recorded the loss in relief for Howard Payne. Quinton Poe went 2.1 innings in the start giving up three runs on four hits. Dustin Kelver and Jamie Boyd also saw time in relief with Boyd striking out two.

Jake Sadler was 3-for-3 from the plate with two RBIs. Dustin DeJohn was 2-for-3 and Matthew Daniel drive in two runs.

In game two the Jacket would tie the game at 4-4 after scoring single runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

Arlington Baptist jumped ahead 3-0 in the second inning but the Jackets scored two in the third to pull within one 3-2. A Jake Sadler single through the left side would score Colton Brown and Joshua Martinez.

Kyle Ramon when 2.0 innings in the start giving up three runs on just one hit, walking five. Chad Anders Corey Howie and Ethan Farrel all saw time in relief. Ferrel was tabbed with the loss.

Howard Payne is now 15-19 overall, Arlington Baptist stands at 24-27 overall. The Jackets will play next in their final home series of the year this weekend versus the University of Texas at Tyler.
