Lady Jackets Defeat LC 82-66

BROWNWOOD, Texas – Howard Payne's Danyel Bradley passed 1,000 points in her career scoring 28 points to lead the Lady Jackets to a 82-66 conference victory over Louisiana College Saturday afternoon.

Howard Payne opened up the game with a 12-0 run holding Louisiana College scoreless in the first five minutes of the game. LC slowly inched back to within four, 32-28 with seconds remaining in the first half.

The Lady Jackets held LC to just 18% while hitting 48% of their shots. It was 18 first half turnovers by the Lady Jackets that allowed LC to get back into the game.

LC would take the lead with 15:31 left in the game but it was all Lady Jackets from that point. Howard Payne then outscored LC 24-4 allowing just one field foal over the next ten minute of the game.

During the second half run by Howard Payne, Danyel Bradley on her 19th point reached 1,000 points in her career as a Lady Jacket.

Howard Payne held LC to just 29% shooting for the game while the Lady Jackets connected on 47% of their shots.

Danyel Bradley led all scorers with 28 points, 10 rebounds and six steals. Sarah Van Remmen had her best overall game as a Lady Jacket ever with 20 points and 19 rebounds. Howard Payne outrebounded LC 53-40 for the game.

Meka Jones led LC with 18 points followed by Danisha Allison with 13 points and 11 rebounds. LaToya Evans added 13 points. LC would force 28 Lady Jacket turnovers.

Howard Payne is now 7-5 overall and 4-3 in American Southwest Conference action. Louisiana College stands at 7-3 overall and 4-3 in conference. The Lady Jackets play next on January 15th at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.
