AUSTIN, Texas - The Howard Payne baseball team fell in their opening round American Southwest Conference tournament game 9-0 to #23 University of Texas at Tyler on day one of the event. HPU will play Mary Hardin-Baylor in elimination game on Thursday at 1:00 pm.

Three fielding errors and seven wild pitches by Howard Payne contributed to the 9-0 outcome for UT-Tyler.,

UT-Tyler opened up a 6-0 lead after the third scoring two in the first and four in the third frames. UT-Tyler out hit HPU 8-5 from the game.

Kyle Ramon went 6.1 innings in the start for Howard Payne allowing seven runs on six hit, striking out four and walking six. Zach Moseley threw the rest of the way allowing two runs on two hits and striking out three.

Howard Payne will play Mary Hardin-Baylor in an elimination game on Thursday at 1:00 pm.
