PINEVILLE, Louisiana - The Howard Payne University men's basketball team was led by
Jase Miguez with a 20 point performance in a 79-61 non-conference loss at Louisiana College Monday evening.
While matching or leading Louisiana College in almost every stat category in the game, Howard Payne would struggle from the perimeter making just 1 of 16 from three-point range.Â
The Wildcats used a run midway through the first half to lead 45-35 at the half. The Jackets then started the second half strong and cut the lead to one minutes into the half.

Jase Miguez jumper and foul followed with a free-throw by Miguez made the score 48-47 Louisiana College. The Wildcats had a 10-0 run from that point and would hold on to the lead till the 79-61 final.
Along with Miguez' 20 points, he grabbed six rebounds and was 6 of 6 from the free-throw line.
Kyle Kildare grabbed a career and game high 13 rebounds along with nine points.
Tyrell Thompson added 10 points with seven rebounds.
Jaylan Ballou had five assists and four steals for the Jackets.
Louisiana College was led by Kae'ron Baker with 34 points followed by Jaylen Rhone with 17 points.
Howard Payne is now 1-6 overall and Louisiana College stands at 4-3 on the year. The Jackets will have an exhibition game at D-I Abilene Christian University on Thursday, Dec. 12th at 7:00 pm before traveling to D-II Dallas Baptist University on Sat, Dec 14th to play at 2:00 pm.
