BROWNWOOD, Texas - Howard Payne University's Luke Cox led Yellow Jackets with 20 points in an 87-65 conference loss to Louisiana College Saturday afternoon in the Brownwood Coliseum.

HPU's Luke Cox went 6-for-12 from the three-point line and finished with 20 points for the Yellow Jackets. 

The Yellow Jackets trailed the entire the game and struggled shooting in the second half connecting at 29.7% (34.8% for the game). 

Louisiana College shot 50% from the field and 50% from behind the arc for the day.

Following Luke Coz with 20 points was Jase Miguez with 14 points. Tyrell Thompson had seven rebounds and Jaylan Ballou dished out four assists.

Louisiana College was led by Denzel Austin with 21 points. KD Wallace had 14 points and Aaron McGhee had 10 assists.

Howard Payne is now 1-11 overall and 0-2 in American Southwest Conference action. Louisiana College is 7-4 overall and 1-1 in league play. The Jackets will be on the road next week at McMurry University on Thursday at 7:30 pm and Saturday at Hardin-Simmons University at 3:00 pm.
