LONGVIEW, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's basketball team fell 100-63 to LeTourneau University Tuesday evening on the road. 

Tyrell Thompson led the Yellow Jackets in scoring with 15 points on the night. Thompson was 6 of 17 from the field.

It was a tight game at the start but LeTourneau put together a run midway through the first half to hold a 50-31 advantage at the break.

LeTourneau started the second half with a 10-0 run on their way to the 100-63 final.

Howard Payne was out rebounded by LeTourneau 52-31 in the game. That with HPU shooting just 31.7% from the field would prove to be the difference in the game.

Following Thompson's 15 points and seven rebounds for HPU was Michael House with 12 points and James Helzer adding nine points. House was a perfect 6 of 6 from the free-throw line.

The Yellow Jackets will play next on Tuesday, Dec. 22nd at the University of Texas at Arlington. It will be a 6:00 pm start time.
