AUSTIN, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's basketball team fell 101-83 to Concordia University Texas Thursday evening in conference play.

Jase Miguez scored a game high 29 points in the 101-83 loss. Miguez was 6 of 9 from behind the arc and 5 of 5 at the free-throw line in the game.Â
Each team traded times holding the lead in the first half but Concordia put together a run before the break to lead 45-36 at the half.
It would be all Concordia in the second half with Tornados outscoring HPU 56-47 and extending its lead to as much as 22 points in the second half.
Follow Miguez' game high 29 points was
Tyrell Thompson with 16 points and game high 11 rebounds.
Jayden Modrall had a solid game with 18 points and seven rebounds.
Concordia was led by Phillip Meinkle with 24 points followed by Gonzola Munoz with 20 points.
Howard Payne is now 1-19 overall and 0-13 in ASC play. Concordia stands at 11-9 overall and 6-4 in league action. The Jackets will play next on Saturday at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at 3:00 pm.
