BROWNWOOD, Texas- The Howard Payne University women's soccer team defeated LeTourneau University 4-1 to claim their 100th win in program history Saturday afternoon at Citizens National Bank Soccer Field.
Kate Recendez highlighted the match, scoring three goals and dishing out one assist.
Recendez scored in the fifth minute of the match on an assist from
Kendra Cecil.
LeTourneau evened the score in the 34th minute, making it a 1-1 match at the halfway mark.
Recendez put the Lady Jackets back on top in the 67th minute, scoring on an assist from
Carrie Gerdes.
Recendez scored again in the 70th minute on an assist from
Lexi De La Cruz to give Howard Payne the 3-1 advantage.
Lexi De La Cruz scored in the 88th minute on an assist from
Kate Recendez to give the Lady Jackets the 4-1 conference victory.
The Lady Jacket defense held LETU to just six shots.

Delaney Castor played all 90 minutes for HPU, allowed one goal, and recorded three saves.
With today's win, Howard Payne improves to 10-5-1 overall and 5-3-1 in American Southwest Conference action. LeTourneau falls to 3-11-2 on the season and 1-7-1 in conference play.
The Lady Jackets will wrap up the regular season on Friday Oct. 29th at Citizens National Bank Soccer Feild in Brownwood, Texas at 1:00 pm
