SHERMAN, Texas- The Howard Payne University volleyball team picked up a 3-1 win over Randall University and fell to Austin College 3-0 in a tri-match on Tuesday evening.
Game OneÂ
Howard Payne won the first two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-17. Randall won the third set 25-23, forcing a fourth set.Â
HPU put the match away with a 25-22 victory in the fourth set.
Mya Ross had 13 kills for HPU, followed by
Amaya Marshall with 12.
Riley Brittain had 26 assists, followed by
Kaitlyn Elsten with 25.
Teagan Hamilton had 11 kills for Randall University, and Mikayla Stewart and 31 kills.
Game Two
The Lady Jackets dropped three straight sets to the 'Roos by scores of 28-26, 25-18, 25-15.
Mya Ross had eight kills for HPU, followed by
Amaya Marshall with seven.
Abbie Knepper added four blocks, followed by
Rylee Spencer with three.
Riley Brittain had 11 assists, and
Sydney Sullivan had 19 digs.
Mattie Duncan had 11 kills for the 'roos, and Brooklyn Talley had 20 assists.
Howard Payne now sits at 3-13 on the season. The Lady Jackets will take on Sul Ross State on Friday, October 8th, at 5:00 p.m. in the Brownwood Coliseum.
