ABILENE Texas- The Howard Payne University women's volleyball team dropped their first road games of the season 3-0 and 3-0 to McMurry University on Tuesday evening.

Game One
After getting off to a 2-0 start in the first set, the Lady Jackets were unable to keep it going and fell 25-16 to start the match.

The start of the second set was a back and forth battle between the Lady Jackets and the Warhawks. MCM went on a 9-0 run, deflating HPU. The final score was 25-17. The Lady Jackets dropped the third set 25-9.

Amaya Marshall and
Mya Ross led the Lady Jackets in kills with five each.
Riley Britain had 10 assists followed by
Kaitlyn Elsten with nine.

McMurry was led by Madison Cuellar with 11 assists followed by Tyler Richardson with nine. Brynn Wilson had a game high 15 assists.

Game Two
The Lady Jackets dropped three straight sets by scores of 25-17, 25-15, and 25-21.

In the third set, the Lady Jackets fell behind early, but went on a 4-0 run to get back within one and ended up taking a two-point lead making the score 21-19. The Warhawks went on a 6-0 run to end the set and the match.

Fabianna Bennett had four kills for the Lady Jackets follow by
Amaya Marshall and
Mya Ross with three each.
Riley Britain led in assists with eight.
Daisy Flores had a game high 17 digs.

Tyler Richardson and Addyson Tiffin led the Warhawks with six kills. Brynn Wilson had 20 assists and Adile Leal had 15 digs.
Howard Payne falls to 2-4 overall and 0-4 in the American Southwest Conference. McMurry improves to 4-0 on the season and 4-0 in conference play. The Lady Jackets will take on Concordia University in a double header at home on Feb. 27th starting at 3:30 pm.
