RICHARDSON, Texas- The Howard Payne University women's soccer team, lost 2-0 to the University of Texas at Dallas on Saturday evening.

UT Dallas scored in the fifth minute of the match, then again in the 35th minute, making the score 2-0 at the halfway mark.

The Lady Jacket defense was able to hold off the Comets for the remainder of the match but could not get on the board.

HPU and UTD each took 11 shots and six shots on goal. 

Kate Recendez, Alexandria Barnett, and Lexi De La Cruz each had shots on frame for HPU.

Delaney Castor played all 90 minutes as goalkeeper for Howard Payne. She allowed two goals and recorded four saves.

The Lady Jackets fall to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play. They will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 2nd, at Citizens National Bank Soccer Field in Brownwood, Texas. The game is set to start at 1:00 PM.
