BROWNWOOD, Texas – Howard Payne University's Trynadee Greenwell scored a game-high 20 points in a 72-59 loss to #5 ranked Trinity University Friday evening in non-conference action.

HPU's Trynadee Greenwell was 5 of 8 from behind the arc and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line to lead all scorers with 20 points along with five rebounds.

Catlyn Ward followed with 15 points sparked by 3 of 6 shooting from the three-point line. Elaina Buchanan grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. Asia Mitchell added nine rebounds.

HPU would outscore Trinity 17-12 in the second quarter to trail 38-32 at the halftime break. After a 28-point third quarter by Trinity, the Lady Jackets had a strong defensive performance in the fourth holding Trinity to just 12% shooting and six total points for the quarter.

Trinity was led by Bailey Timmons with 14 points and Ashlyn Milton with 12 points.

The Tigers forced 30 HPU turnovers but the Lady Jackets outrebounded Trinity 50-41 in the game.

Howard Payne now stands at 1-2 overall and Trinity improved to 3-0 on the year. The Lady Jackets will play next on Nov. 26th at home versus the University of St. Thomas at 3:00 pm.
