IRVING, Texas - The Howard Payne University baseball team erased a six-point University of Dallas lead in the ninth inning to post a 17-12 victory over the Crusaders in this weekend series finale.
Down 11-5 going into the ninth inning, the Yellow Jackets scored 12 ninth inning runs to storm back from a six-point deficit and claim the non-conference series finale 17-12 over UDallas.
The Yellow Jackets scored 17 runs on just 12 hits. It was six UDallas fielding errors and nine walks than HPU took advantage of in the game.

Noah Coronado and
Trevor Fletcher each finished 3-for-5 at the plate. Fletcher posted 5 RBI, and
Derek Gifford walked three times in the game.
Ricky Mays only when 1.1 innings in the start for the Jackets allowing nine runs on eight hits.
Dean Evans then came in relief throwing 2.2 innings and allowing one run on three hits and striking out four.
Ty Garner, Landon Blass,
Harlee Biggs, and Nicolas Richards each saw time in relief. Biggs recorded the win for the Jackets.
Howard Payne is now 5-13 overall and UDallas stands at 6-7 on the year. The Yellow Jackets will play next at a neutral site in Temple, Texas (Temple JC) on Tuesday, March 15th versus the University of St. Thomas. It will be a single game starting at 2:00 pm.
