LONGVIEW, Texas - The Howard Payne University baseball team dropped a double-header 7-6 and 7-3 to LeTourneau University Saturday afternoon in conference action.
Game One
William Burford led the Jackets going 2-for-3 at the plate with one RBI.
RJ Roberts added three RBIs on one hit for the Jackets.
HPU held a 5-4 lead going into the sixth but a three-run bottom of the sixth led to a lead that HPU would not be able to close.
Gary Blair got the no-decision in the start for HPU allowing three runs on three hits and striking out three.

Brendan Read, and Nicolas Richards each saw time on relief for the Jackets.
Game Two
Falling 7-3,
Carson Wert finished 3-for-3 at the plate with
Rylee McGee and Joey Villerreal with 2-for-4 outings for the Yellow Jackets.
Chandler Paul recorded the loss going 5.0 innings allowing three runs on three hits.
Landin Blass and Brendon Read saw time in relief for HPU.
The Lady Jackets will be back in action at home versus Letourneau, an ASC opponent, on April 1-2.
