Jackets Sweep Player of the Week Awards

Men and Women's Basketball Take Home POTW Honors

It was a banner week for Howard Payne basketball as both the men's and women's programs brought home ASC Player of the Week awards, highlighted by two standout senior performances.

On the men's side, Armonie Ramey put together one of the most dominant outings in recent HPU history, powering the Yellow Jackets to a 98-point explosion against McMurry. Ramey erupted for 43 points on 15-of-27 shooting while adding nine rebounds, six steals, four assists, and committing just one foul in 37 minutes of action. His relentless attack earned him 11 made free throws, showcasing the aggressive, high-impact play that fueled his award-winning performance.

For the Howard Payne women, Caitlyn Panuco delivered an equally impressive week, averaging 20.5 points across two strong outings. She opened with 17 points on an efficient 5-of-7 shooting effort against McMurry, adding five assists and two steals in 35 minutes. Panuco then followed with a standout performance versus Austin College, posting 24 points, seven rebounds, and a pair of three-pointers while going 8-of-12 from the line. Her week totaled 41 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and three steals, cementing her as a key catalyst for the Lady Jackets.

With both teams earning conference recognition, the Yellow Jackets continue to showcase top-level talent across the board as the season builds momentum.
