Yellow Jackets Show Grit in Road Contest

Howard Payne Displays Resilience Against Strong Concordia Squad

Howard Payne Women's Basketball battled throughout the afternoon but came up short in a 71–55 road setback at Concordia-Moorhead on Sunday.

The Yellow Jackets stayed within striking distance early, opening the game with strong energy on both ends of the floor. Howard Payne edged Concordia in the opening quarter, 16–15, using balanced scoring and defensive pressure to set the tone.

After trailing by just four at halftime, 26–22, the Yellow Jackets continued to compete in the third quarter as both teams traded baskets. Howard Payne showed resilience coming out of the locker room, keeping the game close with disciplined ball movement and improved offensive execution.

Concordia-Moorhead was able to create separation in the fourth quarter, capitalizing on a strong stretch late to pull away. Despite the final margin, Howard Payne's effort never wavered, with the Yellow Jackets continuing to attack offensively and contest shots down the stretch.

Howard Payne finished the game with contributions across the lineup and showed encouraging signs against a strong Concordia squad that entered the contest with an 8–1 record. The performance provided valuable experience as the Yellow Jackets continue to build momentum heading into the next stretch of the season and will look to rebound on Monday against Chapman University.
