NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas - Freshman Connor Parker and Sophomore Josh Montanez have swept the American Southwest Conference men's soccer Player of the Week Awards after the Howard Payne University men's soccer team went on the road and defeated Penn State University Berks and Penn State University Brandywine.



Parker, a freshman from San Pedro ,California, was named ASC Offensive Player of the Week after leading a potent Yellow Jackets attack where they scored nine goals over the two matches. Against PSU Brandywine, Parker had the most points in the match with five by scoring a brace and assisting the opening goal. He also picked up another point against PSU-Berks with an assist on Kolby Lara's first collegiate goal.



Montanez, a sophomore from Fort Worth, Texas, earned ASC Defensive Player of the Week honors. He was a part of a defensive center back pairing that kept a clean sheet against PSU-Brandywine and only allowed one goal in the win against Berks. Montavez also contributed one shot on goal in the 6-0 win against Brandywine.
