2015: JT played in 8 games for the Yellow Jackets and had three solo tackles, three assisted tackles and one tackle for loss. Estes also fielded one punt return and five kickoff returns for 131 yards during his freshmen campaign.

HS: J.T. graduated in 2015 from Whitney High School in Whitney, Texas. He was a 3 year varsity football player and a 3 time All-District linebacker and an All-State Honorable Mention linebacker who led the state in sacks his senior year with 21 sacks. J.T. also helped lead his team to 2 consecutive 2nd round playoff appearances his junior and senior year. He was also a letterman in baseball and powerlifting. Aside from sports, J.T. also was involved with the Spanish club.

Personal: J.T. is from Whitney, Texas and is the son of Amanda and Scotty Estes. He is an exercise and sports science major with plans to become an athletic trainer.
