2008- Lane played seven games for Howard Payne at wide receiver. He caught seven passes totaling 112 yards and a long of 39. He was also on the ASC Academic All-Conference Team.

2007-Lane played in all 10 games for the Yellow Jackets grabbing 4 receptions totaling for 70 yards and one touchdown. He also got in 2 single tackles on defense. 

2006- He saw special teams action in 6 games making a couple of tackles after spending 4 games with the JV. 

HS- He is a 2006 graduate of Reicher Catholic High School in Waco, Texas where he lettered 3 years in football and track. Playing wide receiver for the Cougars he helped them to a State Championship in 2004 and the State Semi-Finals in 2005. He received 1st Team All-District honors in football and 2nd team All-District honors in basketball. 

Personal- Lane is majoring in Business Marketing. He is the son of Kirk and Robin Wakefield and has one brother and one sister. He has been involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Student Body Secretary while at Howard Payne.
