KERRVILLE, Texas- The Howard Payne Lady Jacket Volleyball team shot down to Kerrville, Texas for a non-conference match on Wednesday, Oct. 17th, against the Schriner University Mountaineers.
The Lady Jackets started strong and made the most of Schriner's 13 errors to take the first set 25-15. It was much of the same story in set two with the Lady Jackets over powering the Mountaineers 25-16. The Mountaineers turned it up in the thirds set, really giving the Lady Jackets a run for their money. HPU pulled it out though, 25-22, to take the match in three and to win back to back matches for the first time since September of 2017.
Zhartaezia Bradley led the match in kills with 11, McKenna Walker had a huge game with 38 assists followed by Kylee Shirley's great defensive showing of 27 digs.
Howard Payne is now 4-19 on the season and stays at 2-12 in conference play.
The Lady Jackets will be home at the Brownwood Coliseum for the rest of the season starting this Friday at 7:00 pm against Concordia University. You can find links to live stats and video at HPUSports.com.
