BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University volleyball team dropped a conference match 3-0 (25-16,25-22,25-18) to Concordia University Texas Friday night at the Brownwood Coliseum.
After dropping their first set 25-16, the Lady Jackets stepped up in the second and third sets as they fought hard but ultimately fell short 25-22 and 25-18 to close out the match.
McKenna Walker led all players in the game with 25 assists.
Mya Ross led the Lady Jackets with 9 kills, followed by
Zhartaezia Bradley with 8 and
Kailey Doering with 8.
Kylee Shirley finished with 14 digs, followed by
Christian Wilson with 9. Bradley added 6 blocks to her stat total for the night. HPU finished with 30 kills, 7 blocks and 27 assists as a team.
Howard Payne is now 4-20 on the season and 2-13 in American Southwest Conference play. The Lady Jackets will return to the Brownwood Coliseum tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. as they take on University of Mary Hardin-Baylor 21-2 (14-0). Find links to video and live stats at HPUSports.com.
