BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne University athletic department today announced the hiring of Devin VerVoort as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Devin comes to Howard Payne after spending the summer working as a strength and conditioning intern for Olympic sports with the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

A 2022 graduate of Carroll University in Waukesha, WI, Devin has worked as the lead human performance coach with the Carroll University women's basketball teams, and women's and men's golf programs.

Working through Ethic Sports Performace, VerVoort also served as the head strength and conditioning coach for Whitnall high school in Wisconsin. 

He spent time serving as track and field sprints coach at Waukesha West high school. His experience has gained avenues of working with youth, high school, college, and professional athletes.

After receiving his exercise science degree from Carroll University, Devin completed a Masters of Sports Physiology and Performance Coaching from Carroll in August of 2023.

He is a USAW Level 1 Coach, a NASM Certified personal trainer, and holds NSCA-CSCS certifications.
