BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne University women's soccer team recorded its third straight victory to open the 2025 season with a 4–0 win over Concordia University Texas Thursday evening at Citizens National Bank Field.

The Lady Jackets (3-0-0) controlled possession throughout the match, outshooting Concordia (0-3-0) 17-4 with eight shots on goal.

HPU opened the scoring in the 22nd minute and carried a 1–0 lead into the break. The Jackets then added three more in the second half to seal the win. Brenna Douthit scored twice, while Madelynn Harry and Paetyn Ellis each tallied one goal. Assists came from Alayna Lopez, Madison LaDart, and Kaylin Greger.

Defensively, the Lady Jackets allowed just two shots on frame. Goalkeepers Landry Combs and Peyton Mueller combined for the shutout, with Combs recording two saves in the first half and Mueller finishing the clean sheet.

Concordia was held without a shot attempt in the second half. Tornados goalkeeper Lemontraja Roberts collected four saves in the loss.
