Badgeley Becomes Winningest Coach in HPU Women’s Soccer History

BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Jackets returned home from an opening-weekend road swing in dominant fashion, posting a pair of convincing victories—and along the way, Head Coach Brandon Badgeley became the all-time wins leader in Howard Payne University Women's Soccer history.
With two road wins to open the 2025 season, Badgeley now owns 57 career victories as head coach, surpassing all others in program history.
On Friday, August 29, HPU traveled to Arkansas and defeated the University of the Ozarks 5–1.
A few days later, HPU went to Louisiana and blanked Centenary 4–0, completing a strong 2–0 weekend road swing—and sealing Badgeley's record-setting milestone.
Coach Badgeley reflected on the achievement following the win:
"This accomplishment doesn't belong to me—it belongs to the players, the staff, and every person who's believed in this program. We've built something special here at HPU, and this is just the beginning."
HPU Director of Athletics Adam Bright praised Badgeley's impact both on and off the field:
"Coach Badgeley has cultivated a culture of accountability, excellence, and belief within our women's soccer program. This milestone reflects the foundation he has built, and we are confident that even greater success lies ahead for the Lady Jackets under his leadership."
The Yellow Jackets will return to Citizens Bank Field Thursday for their home opener against Concordia University Texas at 5:00pm, as they look to extend their impressive early-season momentum under their record-setting coach.
