HOWARD PAYNE ATHLETICS TO HONOR EDUCATORS WITH EXTRA YARD FOR TEACHERS GAME

BROWNWOOD, Texas – Howard Payne University Athletics will recognize and celebrate the impact of local teachers during its home football game on Saturday, September 20, as part of the Extra Yard for Teachers initiative. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at Gordon Wood Stadium.

The Extra Yard for Teachers platform, an initiative of the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation, is designed to elevate the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering educators across the country. Howard Payne Athletics is proud to partner in this nationwide effort, honoring teachers from across the Heartland for their dedication to shaping future generations.

During the game, area teachers in attendance will be recognized on the field and provided with special game-day experiences as a small token of appreciation for their service.

"Teachers are the backbone of our communities, and we are thrilled to celebrate them through this special event," said HPU Director of Athletics Adam Bright. "It's important to us at Howard Payne to recognize their hard work and commitment to students, not only here in Brownwood but throughout the region."

The celebration will include in-game recognitions and other activities designed to spotlight the essential role teachers play in the lives of students and families.

Help us celebrate the teachers who inspire and impact the Heartland every day!
