Biography

2014: Gage played in nine games and gained 37 total tackles, 25 solo and two for loss. He also had three pass breakups and one recovered fumble. He was also an Academic All-Conference selection for his work in the classroom.

2013: Gage recorded 21 tackles along with two pass breakups in nine games for the Jackets.  He was also an Academic All-Conference selection for his work in the classroom.

2012: Did not see time on the field for the Yellow Jackets.

HS/College: Gage is a 2010 graduate of Lee High School in Midland, Texas where he lettered in football. As a member of the Rebels football team, he was named Defensive MVP in the Lee vs  Odessa High game in 2009 and was featured in a front page article in the Midland Reporter Telegram.  In addition to football, he was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Prior to arriving at HPU, he was attending Midland College. 

Personal: Gage is a Criminal Justice major from Midland, Texas who has the plans on becoming a Game Warden.  He is the son of Angie Freeman and Steve and Brandi Smith and has four siblings.  He has an older sister, an older brother and 2 younger brothers.
