2014: Saw time in six games on the HPU offensive line. An Academic All-Conference selection, he is also a member of the HPU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

2013: Played in three games for the Yellow Jackets. An Academic All-Conference honoree.

2012: Did not see action for the Jackets.

HS: Luis is a 2012 graduate of Florence High School in Florence, Texas where he lettered in football, powerlifting and track.  As a member of Buffaloes athletic program, he had the honor of representing Florence at the 2012 State Powerlifting meet and 2012 Regional Championships.  He earned numerous honors including, 2nd Team All-District football, 3-time Regional Powerlifting qualifier, 2012 Regional and State Champion and 2-time powerlifting MVP. Additionally, he set the regional squat and total record for Region 2 2-A in powerlifting. In addition to athletics, he participated in the National Honor Society and had the honor of being crowned the 2011 Homecoming King and 2012 Prom King.

Personal: Luis is from Florence, Texas. His mother is Brandi Mendoza and he has 3 siblings. He has one younger brother and 2 younger sisters.  He is a Criminal Justice major and plans of becoming a police officer.
