Biography

2014: Martinez was 7 of 8 on the year with a long on 44 yards versus Wayland Baptist. He had a 43.7 kickoff avg on 51 attempts with seven touchbacks.

2013: Joshua was 8 of 10 in field goals with a long of 42 on the year. In his 51 kickoffs, he had a 52.1 avg with fout touchbacks.

2012: Joshua split time as the starting kicker going 5 of 7 on the year with a long of 45 versus Sul Ross State. He also had 13 kickoffs averaging 50.8 yards per.

HS: Joshua is a 2012 graduate of Manvel High School, where he played in the 2011 4-A Division II State Championship game at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. The Mavericks earned the State Runner-Up title. While a member of the Maverick football and baseball teams, he was named 1st Team All District in football and baseball, Special Teams MVP and was an All-State selection as a kicker. He was also nominated to kick in the United States Marine All-American Bowl. Joshua states his most outstanding achievement is scoring 22 points in one game as a kicker.

Personal: Joshua is the son of Steven and Sonja Martinez of Rosharon, Texas and has an older brother and an older sister.  Also, he is a business major, minoring in Art.
