2013: In eight appearances, Mitchell struckout three batters and gave up just one hit in 3.1 innings of work.

College: Prior to arriving at HPU he attended Lon Morris College and Alvin Community College where, he played for the Dolphins of ACC and involved in campus ministry.

HS:Mitchell is a 2009 graduate of Danbury High School in Danbury, Texas where he lettered in baseball and football. While playing for the Panthers, he helped take his team to the 2009 2A State Baseball Championship title and District Championship titles in 2007 and 2009. He earned Academic All-District honors and All-District honors in football and baseball. His most outstanding baseball moment was a triple in the 2009 state game. Academically, he was involved in many UIL Academic events.  In addition to athletics, he was very active in Fresh Springs Baptist Church of Angleton, Texas

Personal: Mitchell is a Christian Studies major, minoring in Sports Management from Danbury, Texas who has the ambitions of becoming a professional baseball player and a missionary. He is the oldest son of Mici and Scott Marquis and has 5 younger brothers and one older sister. In addition to having a passion for his sport and his faith, he enjoys playing the drums and his guitar.
