Box Score 2 IRVING, Texas - The Howard Payne University baseball team fell 3-2 and 12-6 to the University of Dallas Saturday afternoon in non-conference double-header action.
Game One
It was a pitcher's duel in game one with HPU's 
Kyle Purdes going the distance in the seven inning game. Purdes allowed three runs on four hits and struckout five.
The Yellow Jackets got both of their runs in the third on balks, allowing 
Joey Villarreal and 
Stephen Prewitt to score.
Noah Coronado, 
RJ Roberts, Sarson Wert, and Villarreal each recorded hits for the Jackets in the 3-2 UDallas final.
Game Two
The Jackets stranded 11 players on base in game two leading to the 12-6 UDallas final
Howard Payne held a 4-1 advantage going into the bottom for the second but allowed a six-run bottom of the inning, a UDallas lead that they would not recover from.
Derek Gifford and 
Carson Wert each recorded two hits for HPU.
Chandler Paul got the loss in the start for HPU allowing seven runs on two hits in 1.1 innings of work.

Brendan Read, 
Jasen Hollingsworth, and Landon Blass all saw time in relief for the Jackets. Read would strikeout four.
Howard Payne is now 4-13 overall and UDallas stands at 6-6 on the season. The two teams will finish out their three game series on Sunday with a single game starting at 1:00 pm
