Keith Crawford of Palestine set 10 Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association and Howard Payne records during his four-year career as wide receiver from 1989-1992. His conference records included yards receiving per game for a season (135.4); career receiving yards per game (109.9); most touchdowns in a season (19); most career touchdowns (42); and highest career kick return average (24.9). School records include most receptions in a game (15), most career receptions (202), most receiving yards in a season (1,489), most career receiving yards (3,845) and most kickoff return yards in a season (617). The records for most receptions in a game, season and career still stand, as do the most yards for a season and career and touchdowns in a career. Crawford was named to the All-ASC team three times and to the NAIA All-American team twice. Crawford played six seasons in the NFL. He spent his first season as a wide receiver for the New York Giants. After a year away from the NFL, he joined the Green Bay Packers for the 1995 season, converting to defensive back. With the Packers, Crawford was named special teams captain and led the special teams in tackles with 15. He spent the next two seasons with the St. Louis Rams and a season with the Kansas City Chiefs. In his final NFL season, he returned to the Packers. He also played for the Memphis Maniax of the XFL.
