HPU Athletics Hall of Fame
Kevin Hill was a four-year letterman for Howard Payne’s football team, helping the Yellow Jackets to two conference titles and leading the nation in receiving in 1992. He graduated from Albany High School in 1989 after multiple all-district selections in football. Hill was a two-time All-American wide receiver, and in his senior year caught 99 passes for the NAIA Division II lead and an HPU and conference record for receptions. He also was a member of the Howard Payne tennis team as a junior and senior. He was part of the conference championship team as a senior and was second team all-conference. After graduating in 1993, Hill went on to coach football at Early, Dalhart, Comfort, Coleman, and Baird. He served as high school principal at Coleman, Baird and Albany. At Albany, Kevin served as the athletic director (2011 thru 2017). He also helped coach the Big Country Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star football game in 2008. He now works for Region 14 Education Service Center.
